"Idiot" written on my forehead
I need to post more regularly, and put pictures up. Those would both be good ideas. For the time being though I will just make a quick little complaint. Today while at the yarn store purchasing stuff for a swap as well as stuff for me I decided to grab one of those needle savers for dpns that hold them all together...two plastic blobs held together with elastic. As I'm strolling about with my yarn and needle saver the owner asks me if I know what I'm holding (no I like to pick up random shit in a store and take it for walks). After I politely said yes she proceeded to explain them to me as well as how to use them (but on end of needles, der, thanks nice lady I was gonna take 'em home an' tryn' tie ma hair up withum). I have never felt so stupid in my life. I must just make a really stupid face when I'm shopping because I tend to get talked down to a lot wherever I yarn shop...no...wait...that'd just be in Boulder County I get talked down to. In Lakewood, Austin, and Anchorage people talk to me like I know what I'm doing. Sigh.

Apple Hat (Adult)
In January I promised a baby's uncle's girlfriend I'd make her an apple hat like the baby got. That is my next goal, I need to crank it out by June 1. If it's in writing I have to complete it, right?
I have heard great things in the last week from a knittin' friend about tubular cast-on. To the needles!
Honestly, I already cast on once with the assumption that I'd be able to fit the hat on a small corded set of circulars. I was wrong and instead of slipping them over to the dpns I just start pulling it off. Ooops. There's something to be said for not trying to knit at one in the morning I guess.

Trying to Get Back on Track
Okay, lately I have been made of the fail. I blame the classes and the work. Today, however, I finished a dishcloth. Sad and not a whole lot with goofy mistakes throughout, but I'm going to use it to wipe up coffee spills so I think it'll be okay. It was just the jump I needed to kick me in the butt and back on track. The invitation to a birthday party also reminded me about the hat I promised someone I'd make last February. D'oh.
So herein is the list of things I need to finish:
Fingerless mitts (not really finished since I haven't even started but I love the yarn so much)
Brother's slippers (need an insole, fulling, and bottoms sewn on)
Eric's bag (needs the meshy sides and handles made)
Penelope's slippers (need to make the second one)
Julianne's slippers (need to make the second one, oh, and finish the first)
Misty's doormat (it makes my hands bleed, seriously)
Ashleigh's monkey (I am so close and put it to the side a year ago, grrr)
Andy's hat & scarf (wip for eight years now)
I think there is more, and they should probably be done in that order. I suck. It's just a bunch of gifts that I have been neglecting to give to people. I'm sure there are more but I can't think of them right now. I wonder if I could get the hat made and a little present for the birthday boy (first birthday) by June 1? Gah.

First Post!
Well, here's the first post for the all crafting blog. None of my job woes, school complaints, house falling apart issues, and other such nonsense will be seen here...well unless it relates to crafting. Hmm, I guess that would be like "I can't knit in business school classes like I used to knit in philosophy classes" or "I can't knit during my break because I don't get one, oh, and my co-workers are all morons" or "If that damn house wasn't falling apart and sucking up all of my non-existent resources I could afford more yarn."
So to start off, currently I need to knit a string bag that I just ripped out because I miss counted and screwed up the bottom, as well as a second slipper, for gifts by Monday. Yeah right. I guess when I'm not driving on our sixteen hour drive I can knit. Sleep is for suckers. I also have a ton of things that really just need to be finished, the worst is the pair of slippers for my brother that I practically finished in January. I am going to put in an extra layer and then just need to full them. Most get on that!
So that's that! Now to hopefully do this regularly.
